Is the shelf-life shorter for dehydrated vs freeze-dried food?

On the whole, that is correct, but the method of drying is not the only influencing factor.

What is the shelf-life of your products?

As of the end of April 2023, most of our meals have a five year 'best before' date. This doesn’t mean that the food won't last longer than five years, but we would recommend using it in that window to get the best-tasting result.

There are some exceptions to the five year rule:

Our compostable packaging keeps the food fresh for one year.
In our standard yellow packaging, our Hot Chocolate Pudding offers a two year BBE date; and our Posh Baked Beans, Chilli non Carne , Mac'n Greens and Vegan Orzo Bolognese offer three years from the point of manufacture.

For customers that bought meals from us before April 2023, it is worth noting that:

If you have a Firepot sitting at home and your meal is dated 2021, the best before end (BBE) date can now be extended to 2026.
If your meal is dated 2022, the BBE date can be extended to 2027.
