Race Across Scotland
Craig Allen is tackling the Race Across Scotland on the Southern Upland Way in August 2023 for Dementia UK. He’s hoping to raise £5,000 for the charity, which is close to his heart following the recent diagnosis of a friend’s mum. The 215 Mile Race Across Scotland over 4 days is a coast to coast challenge, along a historic route with forests, mountains, valleys, lochs, memorials, 4000 year old monuments.
The Southern Upland Way is Craig’s biggest challenge to date (he's also signed up to five endurance trail events to help with his fundraising goal). Aside from the route profile and distance, Craig has to manage his nutrition carefully due to multiple food allergies. When he reached out to us he explained “I have a serious nut allergy and more recently, I have been diagnosed with various other allergies. I love Firepot products as I can trust that what it says on the label is what is included and nothing else! I can avoid my allergens, and just think about running and getting through the event. Firepot will definitely be featuring heavily in RAS. I’m particularly enjoying the Toasted Banana Porridge and Posh Baked Beans. Really tasty and satisfying during my long training test runs.”
