Record-breaking kayak around Britain
24 year-old Dougal Glaisher is 30 days into his attempt to break the record for the fastest kayak trip around the coast of mainland Britain. The record currently stands at 67 days, and is fraught with challenges: tidal flows, dangerous crossings through busy shipping lanes, and all whilst getting to grips with a recent diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes. Summer adventures on and around Skye
Bristol-based adventure and food blogger, Janine Alexander recently travelled to Scotland to kayak around the islands of Raasay and Rona (a 90km paddle). The BTU Jungle Ultra 2023
Fitness coach John Belton has finished the Beyond the Ultimate Jungle Ultra in second position. Facing ascents of over 5,000m, 100% humidity and temperatures of 30+ celcius in the Peruvian Amazon, it's no wonder that only 20% of runners have crossed the finish line in the event's history. John lived off Firepot's Barbecued Pulled Pork throughout this five-stage race, alongside friend Spencer Matthews, who clocked in third.
ITV's This Morning picks Best Camping Gear
In the aftermath of Covid, television network, ITV bought a forest of ancient woodland as part of its bid to "go green". In today's This Morning broadcast, presenter Alice Beer selected her top camping gear for those heading out to the wild this summer, including a range of Firepot's "nutritionally brilliant" meals in 100% compostable packaging. 30 miles barefoot along the SW Coastal Path
11 year-old Megan Bruijns from Dorset is fundraising to help a friend whose family were pushed into hardship by the pandemic. She set herself the challenge of walking from Weymouth to Lyme Regis barefoot over the course of five days, using Firepot along the way. Restoring montane woodland to the Cairngorms
Mar Lodge Estate in the Cairngorms is Britain’s largest nature reserve, with over 29,000 hectares of pine forest, moors, wetlands and munros. This week, Treesurv Woodland Management, whose aim is to restore ancient and rare montane woodland, is planting 4,000 trees here. Camping at 600m above sea level and a four hour hike from the nearest road, their team of five will be sustained by Firepot in the evenings.
