From London to Paris on a Brompton bike

Back in July, the UK's largest cycling retailer, Evans Cycles set out a challenge. The task was to cycle from London to Paris via the Avenue Verte on a pair of Brompton bicycles — small, foldable British-made bikes made popular by urban riders on their daily commutes.

The 260-mile Avenue Verte (the 'Green Way') was intended to offer a traffic-free route between the two capitals via some of Northern France's picturesque rural villages. But, whilst a Brompton may cope well with dense urban traffic and ferry rides, its heavy frame and 16 inch wheels make it is less at home with gravel trails and muddy tracks...

Really putting the Bromptons through their paces, the founding partners of creative agency, Trail Creatives, documented the highs and lows of their journey over five days, aiming to reach the Eiffel Tower in time for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
